For one reason or the other, you need to store your car for a long time. You need to plan many things to protect your car before stepping out on a vacation. Long term storing of your car may lead to dead battery, damaged engine, under inflated tires, and nesting of insects, bad smell etc. Now you are thinking of how to maintain your car and keep in a good condition while you are on vacation? Don't worry; we give you some tips on how to prepare your car for long-term storage.

Here are tips you should follow:
  • The first thing to do is remove the unnecessary things in your car and clean the interiors and exteriors to remove dirt. Or give your car for servicing.
  • If the oil is not in a good condition, remove oil from the car and fill it with a new engine oil and filter oil. This is necessary if you want to store your car for more than a month because used oil contains contaminants which can damage the engine.
  • Filling gas in a fuel tank can prevent moisture coming inside and keeps the seals dry.
  • Purchase a trickle charger in order to prevent your car battery from discharging. If you are not using your car battery for a long time, car battery will lose its power or it is discharged.
  • Applying tire stopper or chock on tires prevents car from moving.
  • Fill your car tires with proper pressure according to the manufacturer's specimen.
  • Make sure that your car windshield wipers, window glasses, headlights, cable wires are in a proper condition.
  • Keep your car covered with car cover and try to store your car in a garage. If you are not having garage then you store your car in a public storage facility.
There are many things to do to keep your car in a good condition but if you follow above precautions then your car will be in a good condition and you can use your car without any trouble.
