Questions to Ask While Choosing a Nanny Referral Agency

There are few reputable nanny agencies which have been serving clients for years, and they are very active in professional and trade associations and they will try hard to provide a best nanny for families who are suitable for them. Some of the agencies lack resources to meet the requirements of the clients. You need to find out a reputable nanny agencies to choose a right nanny. There are few questions to ask to know whether it is a reputable agency to choose, such as:
  • How many years of experience it has? If any agency has long period of experience, then it can serve it's clients better. So, it is better to ask about its experience.
  • How many nannies were provided by them which are suitable for families? One should find out the reputable agency which makes enough matches which are viable economically. One can find out whether an agency meets three to six matches per employee per month, because it is minimum number.
  • What is it's success rate with placements? One should listen carefully their answer for this question and one can ask them why they are successful?
  • Find out their fees and ask them what is their refund policy? Generally, amount fee differs from one agency to another in different places. Generally, fee can be in average from 10 to 15 percent of annual salary of nannies. If it is new agency, it has lower fees than this. If any agency fails to provide a matched nanny then it has to refund the money, but many agencies agree replace the nanny with in a period of time.
Still, there are many questions to ask such as: What is their screening process and do they provide you any documentation on screening?, do they provide any training program for nannies?, how they recruit nannies? etc.

SME Business Growth Barometer UK 2010: BIS

About 26 percent of the SME owners employed less people in February of 2010 when compared to the previous year. There is a significant decrease when compared to previous year which was 38 percent in December 2009 Barometer. Around 57 percent reported that they employ the same number of employees as they had previous year which is up from 49 percent in December. About only 16 percent expressed that they have less employees when compared to the previous year. As per Department of Businesses Innovation and skills, the employments levels are stabilizing.

About 45 percent of SME employers have seen a decrease in their turnover when compared to the previous year. It is similar to previous barometers.


Around 22 percent of SME owners are expecting to employ more people in 12 months when compared with present employment. 65 percent of them think that they will employ very few people. Just 12 percent are least expected to employ.

  • 20 percent of the SMEs have more turnover than the previous year.
  • About 19 percent of the SMEs have the same turnover.
  • More than 50 percent of SMEs have lower turnover.
There is no much change in the figures when compared with December of 2009. When we consider overall trend, turnover levels are seeing a continuing decline when compared to 2008.

About 34 percent of SMEs are expecting their turnover to be more in about 12 months time. 44 percent of them are expecting it to be same. Just 15 percent are expecting a decline in the turnover.
