Types of Yeast Infection

Fungal organism is the main reason for yeast infection. Generally, you can find yeast on your skin. All the time, fungus do not cause infection, if it can be put under the control by immune system of the body. Different types of yeast infections can be caused by yeast and most of them can be treated easily.

Some yeast infections which result because of cancer and transplant patients are dangerous. Nearly 70 percent of the women face at least one yeast infection in their lifetime. Men and children also suffer from this yeast infection. Infections can be caused by yeast in different parts of the body.

There are different types of yeast infections such as:


Oral yeast infection: If there are white patches in the mouth, it is called as oral thrush. Monilia Albicans causes this infection. Organism ruptures the tissues of mouth and throat. Then it causes infections inside the cheek, on the roof of the mouth, tongue, gums and lips. If the white patches are rubbed then it may cause bleeding. Patient may get pain and it may be difficult to swallow the food and water orally.


Less resistance power, use of birth control pills and usage of antibiotics can cause oral yeast infection.


Skin yeast infection: Skin yeast infection may cause itching and rashes on the skin. This skin yeast infection can occur on moist areas like groin, underarms, under the breasts, lower abdomen, under the folds of buttocks, between fingers and toenails.


Systemic yeast infection: When yeast enters into the blood then it leads to systemic yeast infection. It can be observed in AIDS or cancer patients.


Though there are several treatments for yeast infections, it is better to prevent yeast infection.
