How To Claim Property Insurance

Insurance claim is the notification where a policy holder gives a notification to insurance company for payment of dues as per terms of policy. If a person suffered from damage of a property or a personal injury then he or she is given compensation on claim by insurance company. But someone else should incur that damage or loss but those should not be done by insured. There are number of formalities involved in the process of claim so it is not easy getting insurance claim.

All records, affidavits and proofs are asked by insurance company in the process of claim. Generally an insurance company aims to reduce the claim amount to a minimum value.

There are many steps involved in the claim process and they start from point when an insured makes a call to insurance company. When he makes the call first, he should verify that whether the insurance company covered the claim under the insurance policy or not. And he should get the information like how long it will take to claim, the process and submission deadlines.

Policy holder should give complete details about spoiled or damaged property or inventory in property insurance. Household furniture, personal items and damage to the house and out buildings are included in this property insurance. When insurance adjuster arrives to inspect the property insurance claim, at that time insured should have list of damages available and insured is sure that claim which he had filled, so he won’t leave anything out of report. It may take lot of time for the settlement.
